Yesterday was a great day. A full day to be sure, with lots of good stuff.
I slept in, had a great breakfast, I went on a bike ride, I had a great dinner.
And what made all these things so enjoyable?
I did them with friends. It seems simple enough to say: Having friends makes life richer.
It’s not always easy though. In order to get a friend you have to face rejection. Even with little things.
For instance: yesterday I texted 4 people to see if anyone wanted to go mountain biking with me. All did not except one.
I was rejected 3 times in order to get one yes. This is the way it usually goes. A bunch of rejection comes before a yes.
And it was a great ride. Quick, a bit muddy and a little cold. Glad I could get out there and happy I had someone to go with.
When I got home we cleaned the bikes and then parted ways.
Having friends makes my life worth living. When I forget these things, life gets tougher. Much tougher.
